IML commenced trading on January 1, 2004.
IML is a Securities Dealer licensed by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) in
Jamaica. The company manages investments and provides advisory service in all aspects of
wealth management.
Investors are required to complete an application form, provide a valid identification
(Driver’s License, Passport or National Identification) and Tax Registration Number
(TRN).
You should be at least eighteen years old.
The minimum amount is dependent on the type of investment.
The IML Tax Saver (long-term investment) requires a minimum investment of J$250,000
while the IML Investment Maximiser requires J$50,000, US$1,000, CDN$1,000 or ₤1,000.
Clients residing in Jamaica can make deposits at our offices or to our local account
at any branch of National Commercial Bank. Clients residing overseas can make investments through Wachovia’s worldwide banking
network.
While investments may be made in cash or cheques at the bank, we prefer cheque payments
at our offices.
Your investment period commences immediately if your deposit is made by 11:30 a.m.
on any day that we are open for business.
Yes. IML will provide you with an official receipt and a Contract Note outlining
the terms and conditions of your investment.
Yes. IML provides investors with quarterly statements.
A penalty will be applied for breaking the contract. Your principal will be secured
but the interest earned will be reduced.
IML offers long and short-term investments in Money Market Instruments, Local Registered
Stocks, Treasury Bills and Repurchase Agreements.
Interest on investments attracts withholding tax. However, if you invest in the
IML Tax Saver and your money remains invested for five years, withholding tax will
not be deducted.
Interest is paid on maturity of your investment.
You can only borrow money from the company if you have investments with us.
As an investor, you can access a loan of up to 90% of the value of your investment,
which IML will use as collateral.
Your investment is not covered under the Jamaica Deposit Insurance Scheme.
However, when you invest in Government Instruments your investment is backed by
the State.
You cannot lose your investment.
